Here’s evidence that society is recognizing the importance of the 20+ million solopreneurs in the United States: #solopreneurs now receives spam tweets.
For the past three years I’ve monitored the use of “solopreneurs” and “#solopreneurs” on Twitter.
Back in 2010, it was used perhaps five times per 24 hours. It was me and crickets.
In December 2011 I began promoting the use of #solopreneurs and it has grown steadily.
I hope the increased use of #solopreneurs means solopreneurs are finding each other and benefitting from a growing community of like-minded business owners.
But you take the bad with the good, I guess. And that means the spammers and scammers have arrived at our party.
