Tools That Work For The Solopreneur Life: Password Wallet
Here’s an inexpensive tool that has saved me many, many hours of time and loads of frustration since I installed it in December 2008: Password Wallet. Password Wallet is a technology that stores all of my passwords, user names, PIN numbers and other critical numbers in one location. Password Wallet is a product of Tucson-based Selznick Scientific Software.
Prior to installing Password Wallet on my Mac, my passwords were stored scattered all about—in my daily planner, in Word files, on Post-Its. It was a disaster-in-waiting.
I currently have 117 different entries saved into Password Wallet, and they are mostly user names and passwords for online accounts, including: Apple, Bluehost, Capital One, Carfax, DirecTV, e-junkie, EBay, ESPN, FedEx, Google, TurboTax, and dozens more.
There are many other password-management software choices available. I’m not saying Password Wallet is the best, but I am saying it works for me. Choose one that’s right for YOUR needs. The bottom line is this: buy, install and use a password-management software. It will make you a happier person!
Password Wallet costs: $20 for Mac, $18 for PC, $14 for Windows Mobile, $4.99 for iPhone, and free for Android. Password Wallet synchs easily between my Macs, but synch is not available as of this writing for PCs.
