The Solopreneur Life’s “Friday Bits” #42

January 31st, 2012 by Larry Keltto | Posted in Friday Bits

In my occasional “Friday Bits” column, I write about standout solopreneur-related information that I want to share with you. And today’s column is extra special because it’s the first time I’ve published “Friday Bits” on a Tuesday. ;-)

When Talent Meets Humanity

It’s not often that a Web site blows me away. Well, I found one today, and it represents the work and considerable talent of Catherine Orr, a documentary storyteller. I especially liked “Born Into Coal.”

Catherine’s work is compelling to me for several reasons:

• Composition — every frame would be an excellent photograph.

The Solopreneur Life’s “Friday Bits” Column #41

November 4th, 2011 by Larry Keltto | Posted in Friday Bits

It’s been a while since I’ve done a “Friday Bits” column. I’m publishing one today because I have to share these very cool solopreneur stories I’ve found.

Meeting a Need — For Bold Design

Let’s start with Skida Sport, a business that makes and sells beautiful, colorful winter hats. Here’s the Skida story:

Corinne Prevot, founder of Skida Sport

In December of 2007, Vermont skier Corinne Prevot picked up some fun lycra fabric and started making hats for her Burke Mtn. Academy teammates and friends. Soon the demand for the colorful hats grew as did the variety of prints. Then, new products joined the line to keep her alpine skier friends warm and colorful. Corinne graduated from Burke Mt. Academy in 2009, and currently attends Middlebury College.

The Solopreneur Life’s “Friday Bits” Column #40

February 25th, 2011 by Larry Keltto | Posted in Friday Bits, WordPress

It’s the end of the week, and just like almost every Friday at The Solopreneur Life, I have a menu of information for you. This week’s “Bits” is being delivered late, because I had major Web site problems early in the week that brought down TheSolopreneurLife.com for about 72 hours. As you can imagine, it threw me off my schedule just a tad.

So, this week’s Bits is short, and it’s mostly vegetables that are very good for you. The main Bit deals with the one line of code crippled my Web site, the villain who caused the problem, and the obscure WordPress plugin that rescued my site.

February 4th, 2011 by Larry Keltto | Posted in Friday Bits

It’s the end of the week, and just like almost every Friday at The Solopreneur Life, I have some tasty, mostly-healthy bits of information to share with you.

Feng Shui for Solopreneurs

My knowledge of Feng Shui has come from watching hours and hours of the NFL Network. In other words, I don’t know anything about Feng Shui. So I found this article, “10 Feng Shui Tips for Solopreneurs to Attract More Money” very interesting.
