September 20th, 2011 by Monette Satterfield | Posted in Art of Professionalism, Copywriting

This the Art of Professionalism, a periodic series of articles that deal with basic — yet important — business skills that we might not have learned. Being a solopreneur does not excuse us from needing to master these fundamental lessons!

What is your email saying about you?

Whether you’re dashing off a quick reply to a colleague or contacting a prospective customer, your electronic sales staff is whispering in their ear. Do you like what’s being said?

“I’m careless and will screw up details on your project.”

A clear and short subject line is essential, especially if the message is your first contact with someone. With so many messages competing for attention and the ever-present nuisance of spam, lots of folks use the subject line to decide, in an instant, whether to open a message or click “Delete.”

My Opinion of Amy Harrison’s “How to Get Your Sales Page DONE!”

February 23rd, 2011 by Larry Keltto | Posted in Copywriting, Marketing

The bottom line for us as solopreneurs is that we have to get our messages out there, to our potential customers and clients. To paraphrase an old saying: “Nothing happens until the sales page gets written.”

If you’ve been reading TheSolopreneurLife.com for a while, you know that I’m a big fan of Amy Harrison’s work, and I respect the way she supports solopreneurs. Amy is a copywriter based in England. She was a “Featured Soloist”; and she was named to The Solopreneur Life’s 2011 Heroes List.
